At MADE BY MAHIRA, our print collections begin as hand-painted artworks made by our skilled artists, then are digitized to exquisite backdrop prints, inspired by India's rich artistic heritage, each collection tells a story:

OUR FLOWERS
​
Our flowers, made of all-natural materials are sourced from the root of the tapioca plant, carefully cultivated and harvested on a small farm in Kolkata, India. Produced in small batches, every garland reflects our unwavering commitment to quality and craftsmanship. ​

Each step in our process is a labor of love, ensuring that every flower retains its beauty, and realism:​

Cultivation & Harvesting: The tapioca plant is grown with care, and once mature, the root is harvested. The outer skin is removed to create the raw material that will be used to create our petals.

Sun Drying & Slicing - The root is sun-dried to preserve its natural texture, then hand-sliced into thin sheets, preparing it for petal shaping. ​​

Hand-Cutting the Petals - Each petal is meticulously cut by hand, ensuring a lifelike and organic appearance, with delicate details that mimic real flowers.

Assembly, Dying & Drying - The dried petals are carefully stitched together forming each unique bloom, which are then dyed by hand in custom colors creating rich vibrant hues that align with our signature designs. The blooms are then sun-dried to ensure longevity of the colors.

Garland Completion: The flowers are strung into garlands, arranged with precision, and hooks are added for effortless hanging, making installation seamless.
